“Advice is what we ask for when we already know the answer but wish we didn’t.”
Giving advice is the strangest thing for me. A friend is able to come to me with an issue that bothers them, and somehow, out of thin air, I find a solution. Now, if I’m the one with the issue, I can’t seem to help myself or take my own advice.
Do we really need the advice we’re seeking? The majority of the time when I am seeking advice, I already know what I want to do. It’s almost as if I just need the person to validate my answer, or a second opinion, another voice besides the one whispering inside. And yes, I know there are times when we are completely clueless and oblivious as to what we should do–and really need a word from the wise–but look at you.
Look at the stars.
You are made up of the same atoms.
There’s so much in this world.
That you’re better off not asking because
it doesn’t matter.
Neither does this.
